2. TRAVELFLASH FORUM discussion list is not yet up and
running. We hope by next week all will be OK.
-----------------------------------------------------------
3. Last week's question: Who has booked on-line?: Many
thanks to all those who responded. 65% of responses came
from actual travellers and 35% from travel trade. 76.92% of
traveller respondees said they had * NOT * booked on-line
whereas 71.42% of trade respondees said they * HAD *. In
total 60% of all respondees said they had * NOT * booked on-
line so far. Sites mentioned by bookers included Hilton, BA
and Air Canada.
CONCLUSION: Non-trade travellers still need convincing that
it is worthwhile or safe to book on-line. I believe
questions coming from this, such as what would encourage on-
line bookings, how many check fares on-line and book via an
agent as well as the question of whether it is prudent for
sites such as Expedia to exclude known on-line fare checkers
can all be discussed in the TRAVELFLASH FORUM, shortly.
